BKK Armorpoint Dropshot Long Shank Hook

Product Highlights

The dropshot hook BKK Armorpoint-Dropshot Long Shank is designed for anglers looking for a discreet, precise, and reliable presentation when finesse fishing. Its long shank design makes it easy to rig soft worms cleanly and helps keep the bait aligned consistently, which is essential for maintaining natural movement and a coherent action on a dropshot setup. Whether you are shaking the rod in place or making micro-movements, this hook has one goal: to optimize penetration and turn more bites into fish landed.

Bait retention is provided by a bait keeper on the shank. This often crucial detail in precision fishing helps keep the lure firmly in place, straight and stable, while also improving hold during repeated casts and strikes. In practice, you spend less time readjusting your lure and more time fishing efficiently, especially when fish are wary.

Technical Features

• Designed for finesse presentations and rigging soft lures (worms)
• Bait keeper on the shank for a straight rig and improved bait retention
• Super Slide (SS) finish designed for smoother penetration
• Extra-sharp needle point to improve performance on the strike
• Wire made from Hyper Carbon Steel (HCS), said to be stronger than traditional high carbon steel
• Sealed eye with epoxy resin to reduce line wear and minimize slippage risk

Product Benefits and Key Advantages

The core performance of the Armorpoint-Dropshot Long Shank comes from the combination of a very sharp needle point and a Super Slide finish. The aim is to maximize the hook's ability to penetrate quickly, even with moderate hook-setting pressure, which is common in dropshot fishing when the rod is held high and the line is relatively slack. This combination helps improve success on short bites, typical of following fish or periods of low activity.

The wire material, Hyper Carbon Steel (HCS), strengthens the overall structure. For the angler, this means a hook designed to handle repeated stress from rigging, casting, and fighting fish while maintaining its effectiveness. The long shank also adds rigging comfort: it provides a more defined section for positioning the lure and makes it easier to present long soft-bodied baits neatly.

Finally, the eye assembled with epoxy resin is an added safety feature for the line. By limiting potential rough spots around the eye, it reduces abrasion risks and provides greater peace of mind when finesse fishing, where knot consistency and line integrity are essential.

How to Use

To get the best from this dropshot hook, choose a size suited to your worm without oversizing it, so you preserve the bait's natural flexibility. Rig it so the lure is perfectly straight: start by piercing it cleanly, then use the bait keeper to stabilize the position. A well-aligned lure vibrates more naturally and becomes more convincing during pauses.

For the knot, use a rig that allows the hook to sit correctly along the line axis, then always check its orientation before fishing. After several fish or snags, inspect the point and eye: in finesse fishing, a small detail can make all the difference. If you notice the point losing sharpness, replace the hook to maintain an optimal hook-up rate.
