Devaux PRO-QUILLS FLUO Quill Strips

Product highlights

The Devaux PRO-QUILLS FLUO are pre-cut, adhesive synthetic quills designed to deliver fast, clean and durable tying. Their fluorescent finish enhances visibility underwater and in low light, while providing a sharp, modern contrast to fly bodies.

Thanks to their beveled cut and controlled flexibility, these quills reproduce realistic segments with even wraps, from micro-perdigones to bulkier patterns, without extra tools.

Benefits and strengths

The PRO-QUILLS FLUO stand out for their efficiency and ease of use. The integrated adhesive removes tedious prep steps, while the beveled cut ensures a clean anchor when starting the wrap. The fluorescent pigmentation provides a strong visual signal, especially useful in stained water, at depth or during fast retrieves.

The synthetic material strikes an ideal balance between flexibility and memory, allowing tight turns without cracking or slipping. The result: durable, slim and clearly segmented bodies suited to technical fishing and refined tying.

Usage tips

For a regular nymph body, start with a smooth thread base and apply the quill to the shank with the beveled end aligned toward the rear. Wrap with consistent tension, slightly overlapping to create a clean, segmented effect. Secure with a thin coat of finishing varnish or UV resin to seal the adhesive and boost durability.

For perdigones, pair the quill with a smooth base and finish with a uniform layer of UV resin for a sleek, fast-sinking body. For emergers and dries, use slightly more spaced wraps to lighten the profile while keeping an attractive visual contrast. Avoid over-stretching the material to preserve fluorescent intensity and longevity.

FAQ

Are these quills compatible with UV resins?
Yes, the adhesive and surface are compatible with varnishes and UV resins. A thin coat improves durability and gloss.

Can they be used on very small hook sizes?
Yes. The beveled cut allows precise tying on slim shanks; slightly stretch to control thickness when needed.

How to maximize long-term hold?
Prepare a smooth base, apply steady tension, secure the end with a few thread turns, then seal with varnish or UV resin for maximum resistance.
