Product highlights
The DUO Drag Metal Cast Slow is a slow casting jig designed for anglers who want to exploit the full potential of slow presentations. Thanks to its specific design, this slow-falling metal jig stays longer in the fish-holding zone, significantly increasing strike chances even when activity is low.
Designed by the Japanese brand DUO, known for the quality of its lures, the Drag Metal Cast Slow offers an excellent balance between casting distance, search capacity and ease of animation. Its compact shape and internal weighting give it a very attractive gliding action during releases, imitating a weakened baitfish.
Whether from shore or from a boat, this versatile casting jig allows quick coverage of different water layers. It is suitable for both experienced anglers and beginners who want to discover jig fishing with an easy-to-use lure, effective in both steady retrieves and vertical animation.

Benefits and strengths
The key advantage of the DUO Drag Metal Cast Slow lies in its ability to remain longer in the strike zone. Where a classic jig falls very quickly, this slow jig adopts a restrained fall, punctuated by tilts and flashes, which attracts the attention of even sluggish predators.
This behavior makes it an ideal lure for technical fishing, when fish follow but are reluctant to attack fast presentations. By slowing the presentation while maintaining high attractiveness during the fall, the Drag Metal Cast Slow can provoke strikes that other lures do not.
Another major advantage is its great versatility. It can be used from the shore to reach distant bust-ups or to prospect deep zones, and also from a boat for light jigging over rocky heads, wrecks, breaks or ledges. Its ease of animation makes it an excellent choice to discover light slow jigging without complex specialized gear.
Finally, DUO’s build quality ensures appreciated longevity even under intensive use. The metal body and careful finishes resist repeated impacts and repeated attacks from predators.
Usage tips
To get the most out of the DUO Drag Metal Cast Slow, it is recommended to use a sensitive lure rod with enough reserve power to control the jig and set the hook effectively. A fine braid paired with a suitable leader improves sensitivity and the detection of fall strikes.
From the shore, cast well ahead of the area to be fished, let the slow casting jig fall while controlling the line, then animate with short pulls followed by pauses. Attacks often occur during the fall, when it flutters and glides. Vary pull height and pause duration to find the rhythm that triggers strikes.
On a boat, the Drag Metal Cast Slow is ideal for light vertical jigging. Let it fall to the desired depth, then perform short, regular animations: small rod-tip jerks, a slow lift over a few meters, then a controlled release. This alternation of rising and gliding falls imitates a wounded baitfish that is particularly vulnerable.
Adapt the jig weight to current, depth and wind conditions to keep line control while maintaining a sufficiently slow fall. Don’t hesitate to test different retrieval speeds to take advantage of this metal lure’s great versatility.
