Product highlights
The Megabass SRX Griffon is a next-generation floating crankbait specifically designed for fast prospecting of predatory fish in shallow water. Thanks to its compact design and optimized hydrodynamics, it casts easily, comes into action quickly and lets you cover large water surfaces in minimal time.
Its tight, vibrating action combined with perfectly controlled buoyancy makes it an ultra-effective hardbait for predatory fish, triggering reflex strikes from active fish or hesitant followers. Ideal for prospecting, it suits experienced anglers as well as those stepping up to a technical but easy-to-use lure.
- Tight swimming action that emits strong attractive vibrations.
- Shallow-running floating crankbait perfect for skimming shallow areas.
- Internal tungsten weighting for precise casting and optimal stability.
- Designed to clear obstacles and reduce snags.
- Lure built for fast prospecting of active predators.
Technical specifications
The SRX Griffon is engineered to deliver predictable, high-performance behavior in any environment. Its compact, chunky body displaces a lot of water, while its specially designed lip lets it dive quickly and then stay within its working depth range.
- Type: floating crankbait for predator fishing.
- Running depth: works to approximately 1.3 m depending on retrieval speed and line diameter.
- Weighting: internal tungsten weight system for higher density, increased stability and longer casts.
- Action: tight, vibrating and consistent action, effective in steady retrieves as well as in stop-and-go presentations.
- Design: compact body with strong presence in the water and a lip shaped to limit snags.
- Use: ideal for rapid prospecting of wide areas when searching for active fish.
Thanks to its internal architecture, the Megabass SRX Griffon crankbait remains stable even during fast retrieves, making it an excellent tool for power fishing. Its positive buoyancy allows it to rise slowly when stopped, imitating a small fish or prey freeing itself from the bottom.
Advantages and key features
One of the major strengths of this hardbait for predators is its ability to effectively prospect cluttered areas such as shorelines, rocky points or submerged wood. Its lip and compact shape help it deflect off obstacles rather than getting hung up, allowing fishing close to cover with confidence.
The Megabass SRX Griffon also stands out for its versatility. It excels on straight retrieves but also responds very well to speed changes, light rod twitches or deliberate pauses. This versatility lets you adapt the presentation to fish activity and conditions.
- Allows you to quickly cover large areas while prospecting.
- Very good passage through areas with relief or moderate obstacles.
- Suitable for many environments: rivers, canals, lakes and ponds.
- Technically accessible lure, adaptable to multiple retrieval styles.
- Quality design from Megabass craftsmanship, ensuring durability.
Usage tips
To get the most from the SRX Griffon, favor a steady to fast linear retrieve to take full advantage of its tight, vibrating swim. Let the crankbait reach its running depth, then maintain a consistent speed while keeping contact with the lure.
Do not hesitate to vary the cadence to provoke extra strikes: short accelerations, brief pauses or speed changes can trigger follows. When contacting an obstacle, slightly ease tension to let the lure rise and deflect off the structure, then resume the retrieve.
This floating crankbait for fast prospecting is particularly recommended:
- Early and late in the season, when predators hunt along edges or on shallows.
- On windy or slightly stained days, where its vibrations help fish locate it.
- To quickly sweep likely spots and locate holding areas of active fish.
Pair it with a rod rated for hardbaits and a reasonably sized line diameter to preserve its running depth and action quality.
FAQ
Question 1: What predator species is the Megabass SRX Griffon best suited for?
Answer: The SRX Griffon is designed to target the main freshwater predators that hunt in shallow water, especially those feeding on small prey near edges, structures and shallow zones. Its tight action and obstacle-clearing ability make it particularly suitable for fishing active predators holding on these spots.
