Product highlights
Designed by Xorus for modern predator fishing, the Xorus Asturie Silent is a silent topwater lure engineered to quickly cover large water areas without alerting the most educated fish. Its streamlined silhouette and internal balance enable long casts, even into the wind, while producing an extremely attractive action at the slightest rod tip movement.
Ideal for targeting sea bass and other marine predators, it also performs excellently on many freshwater predators when they hunt near the surface. Free of sound beads, it relies on smooth movements, pronounced lateral darts and a discreet wake that trigger explosive strikes when fish refuse noisy conventional lures.

Advantages and key strengths
The main advantage of the Asturie Silent lies in its ability to trigger strikes from fish that have already seen many lures. Where a rattling model may spook them, this discreet stickbait remains natural and reassuring. Its tight action, punctuated by wide lateral bursts, mimics a wounded baitfish fleeing on the surface—a signal predators find hard to ignore.
Highly versatile, this lure deserves a place in any angler’s box looking for a topwater lure for sea bass and predators capable of quickly covering ground. Its ease of animation makes it an excellent choice both for experienced anglers and for those discovering topwater fishing. A few wrist flicks are enough to produce an attractive, consistent action.
Finally, its robust design and quality components make it a reliable ally for intense sessions, at sea or in freshwater. You get a lure that can handle repeated casts and fights without failing.
Usage tips
To get the most out of the Asturie Silent, use a spinning or casting rod with a fast action able to transmit precise tip movements. A medium-diameter braid paired with a fluorocarbon leader optimizes casting distance and sensitivity.
On the cast, aim for edges, current seams, rock heads, drop-offs or visible surface boils. As soon as the lure hits the water, tighten the line and start a walking-the-dog retrieve: rod tip low, short sharp wrist twitches with continuous line retrieval. Vary the rhythm by alternating fast sequences and longer pauses to provoke a following fish into striking.
In calm seas or on very wary fish, slow the animation and add pronounced stops. In windy conditions or when predators are actively hunting, don’t hesitate to increase the cadence to trigger instinctive strike reactions.
FAQ
Question 1: Is this lure only suitable for saltwater?
Answer: No, the Asturie Silent is designed to target all kinds of surface-feeding predators. It is deadly on sea bass, but also works very well in freshwater on opportunistic fish that feed near the surface.
Question 2: Do you need to be experienced to animate it well?
Answer: This model remains very accessible. A simple steady retrieve interrupted by short twitches already gives it an attractive action. With a bit of practice you’ll quickly master the walking-the-dog and refine your animation according to fish activity.
Question 3: Can it be used with fine braid?
Answer: Yes, a thin-diameter braid is even recommended to fully benefit from its casting ability and sensitivity. Just add a leader appropriate to the size of the fish targeted and the nature of the environment to avoid cuts and remain discreet.
