FOX Carpmaster Air Mat Landing Mat

Product Highlights

The FOX Carpmaster Air Mat is a landing mat designed for anglers who want to put fish protection first. When practicing carp fishing, handling the fish at the water’s edge (unhooking, catch-and-release, quick photos) is a sensitive moment: the fish must stay safe on a suitable surface, and the angler must be able to work cleanly and efficiently. This carp care mat is designed to provide a safer, more forgiving landing area than hard or uneven ground.

Its ""Air"" approach focuses on cushioning and reducing impact when the fish is laid down. For the angler, this means greater peace of mind during handling, and for the fish, better protection during essential tasks: removing the hook, checking the mouth, rinsing off mucus, and preparing for a quick release.

Product Benefits and Key Advantages

A good unhooking mat is not just an accessory; it is a central part of your carp care approach. The Carpmaster Air Mat aims to reduce the risks linked to micro-impacts and fish movements, especially when the carp is thrashing. The cushioning provided by an inflatable structure helps maintain a more comfortable contact area while encouraging more controlled handling.

This landing mat also helps you organize your bank-side routine: you have a dedicated area to place the fish, keep the landing net close by, have your tools within reach (disgorger, forceps, antiseptic), and move quickly toward weighing or release. In practice, this helps reduce the time the fish spends out of the water, a key factor in fish welfare.

Finally, choosing a FOX product from the Carpmaster range also means looking for a solution aligned with carp anglers’ expectations: durable everyday use, terrain-focused design, and a safety-first logic. Without promising the impossible, the Carpmaster Air Mat fits into a responsible approach: land, unhook, check, and release in the best possible conditions.

How to Use

Set up the landing mat on a flat area free of sharp objects and, if possible, slightly damp or in the shade to help preserve the protective mucus layer. Prepare your equipment before bringing the fish out of the water: forceps, antiseptic, weigh sling, and camera should be ready. Wet the contact surface if needed, then place the carp calmly and keep one hand close to the fish during unhooking at all times. Keep handling time to a minimum, carry out the care steps quickly, and prioritize catch-and-release as soon as possible. After the session, rinse the mat with clean water, let it dry, then store it properly to avoid odors and premature wear.
