MADNESS Spare Tail Replacement for Balam

Product Benefits

The Spare Tail for Balam by Madness is a replacement caudal fin specifically developed for the renowned Balam lures. When the original tail is damaged by repeated predator strikes, this accessory lets you extend the life of your swimbaits while maintaining their effectiveness.

Thanks to its careful design, this replacement tail preserves the realistic, undulating swim that made the Balam lures famous. You continue to enjoy an attractive swimming action without replacing the entire lure. It’s both an economical and eco-friendly solution that reduces waste while keeping your lure boxes ready for action.

Compatible with the different models in the range, the Spare Tail is available in several versions to fit each Balam lure precisely. Each tail model is sized to restore balance, stability and the expected swimming amplitude — essential for big-lure predator fishing.

Advantages and Key Features

The main advantage of the Spare Tail for Balam is its ability to bring a damaged lure back to life. Rather than relegating a damaged Balam to the bottom of the box, you put it back into service instantly by replacing only the caudal fin. This approach reduces long-term costs while keeping your favorite models ready to fish.

The tail’s shape is designed to preserve the signature swim of the Balam. You retain the rolling, wobbling and tail oscillation that trigger bites from wary fish. For demanding anglers who know their swimbaits well, this fidelity of swim is a major asset.

Another strength is that the Spare Tail is manufactured from a material combining flexibility and toughness. It remains flexible enough to kick and vibrate at low speed, yet robust enough to withstand repeated strikes, predator teeth and underwater obstacles. This durability makes it a reliable fishing accessory suitable for intensive sessions.

Finally, availability in different variants tailored to the various Balam models allows you to replace the tail of each lure in the range. You thus maintain perfect swim consistency across all your Balam swimbaits, whatever the model. For an angler passionate about this iconic series, that’s a real plus on the water.

Usage Tips

Before fitting your MADNESS Spare Tail, ensure the rear of the Balam lure is clean and free of debris. Remove the worn tail, then align the replacement tail with the body axis. Insert it carefully into the housing provided and check it is properly seated on the retainer system.

Then check the tail alignment: a correctly centered fin ensures a perfectly balanced swim, even at low speed. Make a few test casts to observe the swimbait’s behavior and slightly adjust the position if necessary.

After each session, rinse the tail with fresh water, especially if you fish in stained or silty waters. Store your Balam lures with the Spare Tail installed in a suitable box, away from high heat. This simple care helps prolong the replacement tail’s lifespan and maintain its performance over outings.
