Product strengths
Designed to meet the demands of technical anglers, the Greash Hill Climb soft shad is engineered to trigger strikes from the wariest predators. Its refined profile and segmented body produce a wide, vibrating swim at low speed, perfect when fish are selective or inactive. Thanks to this natural action, it stands out as a versatile soft lure for predator fishing, equally effective in vertical presentations and in slow straight retrieves.
Its pre-slit belly enables quick, clean Texas rigging while reducing snag risk in cluttered areas: weedbeds, snags, bridge piles or artificial structures. This design promotes a discreet, highly mobile presentation without compromising hookup rates. Paired with an appropriately weighted jighead, this shad for pike, zander, perch and largemouth bass maintains excellent stability in current and in still water alike.
Developed by Hill Climb for demanding conditions, the Hill Climb Greash soft lure excels when fishing pressure is high or water clarity forces slow, precise animations. It allows you to follow breaks, slopes and holding zones meter by meter while preserving a smooth, regular swim even at very low retrieval speeds.

Advantages and key points
The main asset of the Greash Hill Climb soft shad is its ability to remain attractive even at very low animation speed. When fish follow without striking or feed in place, this natural, slow swim can make all the difference. The segmented body and wide tail produce marked vibrations while keeping a smooth, reassuring movement for pressured fish.
Another major advantage is versatility. This predator shad accepts standard jighead setups as well as Texas rigs or semi-weighted presentations for a gliding evolution. It enables efficient fishing of edges, flats, holes or weed zones with the same lure simply by adjusting weight and casting distance. For the angler, that means fewer rig changes and more time prospecting the right depth.
- Particularly effective in difficult conditions or on wary fish.
- Stable swim even during pauses and rhythm changes.
- Facilitates Texas rigging to confidently fish cluttered areas.
- Excellent compromise between softness and durability of the material.
- Designed for technical anglers seeking precision.
Usage tips
To get the most from the Hill Climb Greash soft lure in vertical fishing, let the lure fall close to the bottom, then work it with small rod tip twitches interspersed with pauses during which it should remain nearly motionless. Its tail activates at the slightest movement, which helps trigger strikes from fish stacked just above the substrate or holding on breaks.
For slow straight retrieves, make long casts toward edges, weedlines or structure marked on your fishfinder. Retrieve while maintaining constant contact with the lure, rod tip slightly low, alternating slow recoveries and micro-accelerations. Don’t hesitate to add short pauses to let the shad slightly glide before restarting—bites often occur at these moments.
The Greash can be used with a wide variety of riggings: jighead to quickly comb an area, Texas rig to pass through obstacles, or a more discreet presentation for clear water and educated fish. Simply adapt weight and animation speed to depth and current, remembering that this model performs best at low speeds.
FAQ
Question 1: Is this lure suitable for vertical fishing from a boat or a float tube?
Answer: Yes, the Greash was designed to excel in vertical predator fishing. Its tail activates at the slightest movement, making it particularly effective for slow presentations above the bottom, whether from a boat, a float tube or from the bank when depth allows.
Question 2: Can it be used with a Texas rig to fish cluttered areas?
Answer: Its pre-slit belly is specifically designed for that type of rigging. When rigged on an appropriate Texas hook, you significantly reduce snag risk while retaining excellent freedom of movement. It's an ideal solution to prospect weedbeds, submerged trees or artificial structures without sacrificing hookup efficiency.
