Product highlights
The SHUGENDO SH16 rod is designed for demanding anglers seeking a reliable tool for shore-based sea bass fishing, migratory species and pike with lures. Its reactive blank provides the power reserve needed to control fighting fish while retaining excellent sensitivity in the tip to read lure behavior and feel the slightest bite.
Versatile, this rod allows effortless animation of large stickbaits, shads rigged on jigheads or blades, as well as large-sized swimbaits. It excels at both fast, aggressive retrieves and slower, straight-line retrieves, making it a powerful, multi-species lure rod perfectly suited to varied conditions encountered in saltwater and freshwater.
Designed for intensive use, the SHUGENDO SH16 rod for sea bass and pike benefits from a robust construction and thoughtful ergonomics. The balanced setup reduces fatigue during repetitive cast-and-retrieve sessions, while the secure grip ensures optimal control during the fight.

Benefits and strengths
The primary asset of this rod lies in its ability to propel large lures far, even into the wind, while remaining accurate. This advantage is decisive for reaching sea bass feeding far offshore, covering large areas in search of an active pike or presenting a lure to a wary migratory fish held off the bank.
Its specific action makes it easy to animate a large stickbait in walking-the-dog, to bring a shad to life when fished in a straight retrieve near the bottom, or to make a swimbait vibrate in mid-water columns. The angler thus benefits from a versatile rod for sea bass, pike and migratory species, able to adapt to many rigs and styles of presentation.
Finally, its comfort of use makes a difference over long hours. The weight distribution reduces wrist and forearm fatigue, allowing longer fishing sessions and better focus on detecting bites. For the casual angler as well as the expert, this powerful, technical fishing rod quickly becomes a trusted tool.
Usage tips
To get the most out of the SHUGENDO SH16 rod, it is recommended to pair it with a reel sized appropriately for lure fishing, fitted with a braid of diameter consistent with the targeted fish. A fluorocarbon leader will ideally complete the setup to cope with rocky environments, snags and the teeth of predators.
At sea, this rod performs best for shore-based sea bass fishing on rocky points, estuaries or beaches with current. Alternate between stickbaits, diving swimbaits and shads depending on fish holding and water depth. In freshwater, favor pike and migratory fish holding areas, varying retrieve speed and animation to trigger strikes.
Remember to carefully set the reel drag to take advantage of the blank's power reserve without risking breakage. A smooth, progressive casting motion will allow you to fully exploit this rod's casting capabilities.
