Product Highlights
The MEGABASS Vision 110 +2 Junior is a suspending minnow jerkbait designed for anglers who want to keep the sharp response and precision of a modern jerkbait while reaching deeper zones than classic minnows. Its “+2” design aims for increased swimming depth, which is very useful when fish are holding below the surface layer, on a drop-off, above deep vegetation, along a dock, or near cover. Thanks to its balanced behavior, it lets you work the strike zone by alternating rod pops, pauses, and stops without losing control of the lure’s path. For wary predatory fish, this stop-and-go approach and its ability to remain convincing even at slow speeds often make the difference.
Built to trigger reaction strikes, this lure relies on an effective combination: wide side-to-side movement during the retrieve and a rolling action that creates noticeable flash, especially when light conditions change or the water is slightly stained. The result is a technical minnow that fishes with finesse while staying highly responsive when worked.

Benefits and Product Strengths
The main appeal of the Vision 110 +2 Junior lies in its ability to reach water layers that are less often targeted by topwater lures or shallow-running jerkbaits. When fish follow but do not commit, or when they become picky after heavy fishing pressure, the short-action + pause combination allows the lure to do the work without overdoing it. Its stability on the pause strengthens this effectiveness: you can hold it longer in promising areas while keeping a believable presentation.
In action, the sharp and irregular side-to-side movement gives the lure a fleeing profile that is highly effective at triggering bites. The rolling action and flash help the lure stand out and provoke aggression, especially when a fish follows from a distance. This behavior is particularly useful for targeting positioned fish (banks, structure, bottom transitions), but also for light ticking over cover by adjusting the retrieve angle.
Another major advantage is that the lure remains effective at slow speed. This makes it possible to fish slowly in cold water, or to keep the lure in the “right” depth longer without needing to speed up to make it react. In practice, you can build a simple, consistent retrieve (twitch-twitch-pause), then adjust it based on bites: longer pauses, sharper jerks, or a more linear retrieve punctuated by subtle rod twitches.
How to Use
To get the most from this suspending jerkbait, alternate short rod pops with clean pauses. Start with an easy sequence: two or three small twitches, then a pause. If fish follow without striking, lengthen the pause and reduce the size of the rod movement. If activity is high, speed up slightly and increase irregularity (twitch-jerk-short pause). Also vary the retrieve angle: lower rod tip to maintain depth, or higher rod tip to clear heavy cover.
For tackle, a responsive rod (spinning or casting) with a line suited to jerkbait fishing makes it easier to control the lure and detect bites during the pause. When fishing around abrasive cover or toothy species, adding an appropriate leader helps protect the presentation while keeping a natural swim.
FAQ
Question 1 : What is the purpose of a “+2” jerkbait compared with a more standard model?
Answer : A “+2” model is designed to reach a greater swimming depth, allowing you to target fish holding deeper while keeping the typical responsiveness of a jerkbait.
Question 2 : How should you work a suspending jerkbait when fish are cautious?
Answer : Reduce the size of the twitches, slow down the cadence, and extend the pauses. The goal is to let the lure “work” without overdoing it, in order to trigger a strike on hesitation.
Question 3 : Is this lure suitable for a straight retrieve?
Answer : Yes, it can be used on a steady retrieve, but it is especially effective when you add twitches and pauses that highlight its rolling and side-to-side action.
