Treble Hook BKK Assist Spear-21 SS

Product Benefits

The BKK Assist Spear-21 SS is a treble hook designed for demanding anglers looking for a rare balance between lure retention, hooking efficiency, and smooth action. Its design focuses on two key aspects of lure fishing: keeping the bait perfectly in place during casts, retrieves, and strikes, while maximizing the hook’s ability to penetrate quickly and deeply. Thanks to a double-prong soft lure keeper, the rig stays stable and prevents slippage that can compromise presentation. It is completed by a Super Slide coating designed to improve penetration, delivering firmer hooksets without restricting the lure’s action.

Built to deliver a high level of reliability, the Assist Spear-21 SS is a smart choice for securing a soft lure on a treble hook, reducing repeated adjustments, and improving consistency throughout a fishing session. It is suited both to rigs that require fast hook-up performance and to situations where lure retention makes the difference (active retrieves, short strikes, and wary fish).

Advantages and Key Product Features

Improved lure retention: the double-prong keeper helps keep the soft lure properly aligned. A cleaner presentation often means more converted strikes and less time spent repositioning the bait. It also improves swimming consistency: when the lure stays centered, it keeps its intended action, which is crucial for triggering strikes in both steady retrieves and jerky animations.

Optimized penetration: the Super Slide coating is designed to reduce entry resistance so the point performs effectively when it matters most. On fast bites or tentative takes, this added penetration can help turn a light tap into a solid hook-up. The goal is clear: improve hooking power without making the rig heavier or altering the lure’s action.

Versatility for lure fishing: as a treble hook, it suits setups where multiple points of contact and a higher probability of hooking matter, especially when fish are short-striking. It fits into a performance-driven approach: stable presentation, efficient hooksets, and greater confidence on every cast.

Usage Tips

To get the best from the soft lure keeper, install the bait straight and gradually so it keeps its natural profile. Check that the lure is properly seated on the keeper before you start fishing: a bait that is slightly off-center can lose efficiency and produce a less regular swim. During the session, a quick visual check after a strike or contact with an obstacle or the bottom helps maintain optimal presentation.

For retrieval, adapt your action to the lure and conditions: the value of this rig is that it preserves bait action while providing a responsive treble hook. After fishing, rinse and dry your gear if needed and store the hooks away from moisture to maintain long-term performance.

FAQ

Question 1: What is the double-prong keeper on a treble hook for?

Answer: It is used to hold the soft lure more firmly on the hook to prevent slippage, which improves presentation and keeps the action consistent.

Question 2: Does the Super Slide coating change the way you fish?

Answer: It does not require any specific retrieve; its main purpose is to improve penetration and hook-setting efficiency while preserving the lure’s natural action.

Question 3: Is this product only suitable for one type of lure?

Answer: It is especially relevant for lure fishing with baits that need strong retention, particularly soft lures, while remaining suitable for applications where a treble hook is preferred.
