Product Highlights
The Wolfcreek Curly 22 cm is a soft lure designed to trigger strikes from large predatory fish thanks to a wide, natural swimming action. Produced in a series faithful to the original handcrafted model, it features an effective profile and a curly tail that gets the lure moving with the slightest pull. Whether you fish slowly, with twitches, or on a simple straight retrieve, the Curly maintains a consistent vibration signature that helps fish locate it, even when visibility is low.
Its refined finish is enhanced by realistic 3D eyes, an important visual detail when the lure is closely followed before the strike. The overall design aims for a baitfish-like appearance, with a presence that is both reassuring and provocative. This lure is primarily intended for pike and musky fishing, but it also adapts well to other predator species depending on the waters and the prey size available at the time.

Advantages and Key Strengths
The Curly is made from perfectly soft and stretchy plastisol, designed to optimize swimming action. This softness allows the tail to work easily, helping maintain effective action over long periods of prospecting. In addition, the formulation, presented as phthalate-free, is a more environmentally conscious choice while aiming for good tear resistance during strikes and fights.
Another key strength is its versatility in rigging. The Wolfcreek Curly maintains excellent swimming performance no matter how you rig it, making it highly adaptable to depth, current, and fish activity. You can choose a screw-in weight and a hook system suited to big predators to fish deeper and slower, or opt for a lighter presentation to work shallow water. This ability to stay stable and attractive makes lure selection easier when alternating drop-offs, weed beds, shallow bays, and shoreline edges.
Finally, its 22 cm size is aimed at fish feeding on substantial prey. It is an excellent size for selecting bigger fish and provoking aggressive strikes, especially at the start and end of the season, when large predators prefer high-value meals. When prospecting, it also lets you cover water quickly while maintaining a strong presence.
How to Use
To get the best out of this soft lure for pike, vary your retrieve speeds. In cold water or around fish that follow but do not strike, use a slow, steady retrieve with pauses: the tail often keeps quivering and can trigger a bite on the restart. In warmer water, work it with twitches and pulls, then let it fall under control so the lure can glide and vibrate.
When fishing deep water, using a screw-in weight with a suitable setup and a release-style harness is recommended to maintain good control and improve hook-setting on large fish. In very shallow areas, a lighter presentation helps it pass over obstacles and stay in the active water layer. Be sure to adjust hook size and position to match the lure and check body alignment regularly to preserve a perfectly straight swimming action.
FAQ
Question 1: Does the Wolfcreek Curly only work on a straight retrieve?
Answer: No. It is effective on a straight retrieve, but also with twitches, a lift-and-drop action, and pauses. Its curly tail stays active at low speed, allowing you to adapt the action to the conditions.
Question 2: Can it be used in shallow water?
Answer: Yes, by choosing a lighter presentation. This makes it possible to fish above weeds and obstacles while still maintaining an attractive swimming action.
Question 3: Is this lure suitable for large predatory fish?
Answer: Yes, its size and action are designed for pike, musky, and other predators. Pair it with a robust setup and a bite-resistant leader.
