Product Highlights
The Wolfcreek Lures Skinny Wolf is a hard lure designed to trigger strikes from predatory fish with a glidebait / jerkbait-style swim: a wide glide during pauses and a nervous, unpredictable action as soon as you add twitches. This combination is highly effective when fish follow without committing, or when you need to trigger an aggressive reaction.
Made from highly durable polycarbonate and equipped with a stainless steel through-wire frame, it is built for reliability in combat, even against powerful fish. Its slow sinking balance lets you work the water column with precision, allowing the lure to sink gradually during pauses and extending the strike zone.
- Long glide on the pause to imitate a struggling prey item
- Erratic swim during retrieval to provoke violent strikes
- Durable polycarbonate body
- Stainless through-wire construction for maximum strength
- Lead-free weighting for a more responsible design

Product Benefits and Key Strengths
The Skinny Wolf is aimed at anglers looking for a pike lure capable of working hotspots effectively and staying in the strike zone for a long time. Its slow sink rate is ideal for marking pauses, suspending the silhouette, and giving the impression of a weakened prey fish. Strikes often come when the lure slows down and darts off to the side.
Its elongated profile and swimming mechanics inspired by the great classics of the glidebait family make it easy to alternate retrieve styles: steady retrieve punctuated by short rod twitches, stop-and-go sequences, or jerkbait animation with longer pauses. This versatility helps adapt to fish mood, water temperature, and fishing pressure.
The rugged construction is a major advantage when targeting powerful species: the stainless through-wire frame secures the attachment points and reduces the risk of failure during hard fights. The VMC hooks complete the setup for reliable hook-ups. Suitable for both freshwater and saltwater, it works equally well for pike fishing and for targeting other opportunistic predators.
How to Use
To get the most out of the slow sinking glidebait, start with fan casts and work the area in stages. The simplest animation is a slow to moderate retrieve, followed by pauses: let the lure glide and sink gently, then restart it with a short twitch. Vary the pause length until you find the triggering rhythm.
- In cold water: use longer pauses and short twitches
- In warmer water: increase the pace and add changes of direction
- For following fish: stop abruptly, let it sink, then restart with a sharp twitch
Best practices: catch, quick photo, release to help preserve fish populations, and check the hook points regularly after each fish.
FAQ
Question 1: Is the Skinny Wolf more of a glidebait or a jerkbait?
Answer: It sits halfway between the two, with a pronounced glide action on pauses and a more erratic swim when worked with twitches or during retrieval.
Question 2: What is slow sinking for?
Answer: It allows the lure to stay in the hunting zone and trigger strikes during the drop, while maintaining precise control over depth through retrieve speed and pauses.
Question 3: Can it be used in the sea?
Answer: Yes, its stainless steel construction and stated use for freshwater and saltwater make it suitable for marine environments, with rinsing recommended after use.
